Invite says May 15, 2025....but we meant to say June 1, 2025 :)
The bride and groom will be in "garden party" attire (because who doesn't want to be cute at their wedding party?!) We encourage people to wear what makes them comfortable, whether that's a cocktail outfit, a semi-casual look, or an elevated mermaid onesie. We welcome you as you are :) Some things to keep in mind: Photos will be taken! So maybe steer clear of graphic tees and denim shorts. The backyard grounds are soft, a little hilly, with lots of grass. This runs from late afternoon into the evening - prepare for warm to cooling weather. For the children, we're eating tacos - prepare them wisely. If you have questions, just ask us!
Yes, we are registered for funds on Zola! No pressure to give a gift, but if you choose to, we have an important note: While we (*cough cough* Lauren) absolutely love home goods and decor more than we can explain, we live in a small apartment and don't know what life will look like over the next few years! We appreciate and invest our money in experiences and travel and ask that in lieu of physical gifts, you contribute to one of our funds.
Yes! This is a casual backyard party with lawn games, tacos, and s'mores...the kids will have a blast if you choose to have them join. If you don't want your kids to come, we will not judge you. Parents need a break sometimes and we have some really fun adults coming so it's the perfect excuse for a weekend away! KEEP IN MIND: We will not have a babysitter, and though Lauren is a teacher, this is a time for both of us to catch up with the adults we love and don't get to spend a lot of time with.
Unfortunately no :( We know they are like your kids and the dream is to have them join a fun backyard party too, but we have to keep it limited to human kids only this time!
We are hoping most food will be adjustable enough that food allergies are accommodated for, but it's best to let us know what you need to avoid. We can verify there are enough alternatives for you!
PLEASE PARK ON THE STREET IF YOU ARE DRIVING!!! Their driveway is sloping and windy, so if accommodations are needed, please let us know.
We don't have transportation and highly recommend Lyft, Uber, or carpooling.
When it gets closer to the date, check back in on the website. We may end up reserving space at a diner or doing a day after picnic at a local park or in a nearby town. Very much TBD! In the "Things To Do" tab above, we will have a few restaurant and activity recommendations for those from out of town. This is an incredibly adorable part of New York so exploring is fun and easy!
