Matron of Honor
I met Amanda in middle school on the cheer team, not realizing it was the start of one of the most important friendships of my life. Through high school, college, and every chapter since, our bond has only grown stronger and turned into a true sisterhood. Together, we’ve traveled to 12 states, shared endless laughs and inside jokes, danced our way through countless concerts, and always shown up for each other with open hearts. She’s the person I can talk to about anything, always without judgment, and we complement each other in the best ways. Amanda is the creative, artistic one who reminds me to slow down and to never stop expressing myself. It has been a blessing to have her by my side through every season of life, and I can’t imagine saying “I do” without her next to me!
Bridesmaid
Sara was 12 when I was born, so we didn’t grow up like typical sisters. By the time I was six, she was already off at college. People often thought she was my mom (which I’m sure she loved), and I was certainly a nuisance of a little sister. I’ve always looked up to her and wanted to be like her, and a lot of who I am, including my appreciation for music, comes from her influence. However, she is a math teacher, and I’d happily go the rest of my life never seeing a math equation again. But those differences make our relationship even better. As I got older, our relationship shifted from big sister/little sister to something more special - a true friendship. I’m so proud that she is not just my family, but also my friend, and I am grateful to have her by my side on this special day! .
Best Man
Mike and I have known each other almost our whole lives, going to the same schools from elementary through college. He was a grade ahead of me, so we became friends through Cub Scouts, Little League, and carpool rides home from school. Our friendship really deepened in high school. During the long days of summer break, we'd head out on Wendy's runs and get together for movie marathons, sharing plenty of laughs and building the brotherly bond that's lasted ever since. As the years have gone by, we've shared numerous college football Saturdays, celebrated milestones, picked one another up, and been each other's sidekick. Mike has been one of the most steady, loyal presences in my life, and I can't imagine getting married without him standing beside me.
Groomswoman
Jocelyn was my first friend. As my older sister, she didn't exactly get a choice in that, but she's always been there to show me the ropes, look out for me, and, when necessary, put me in my place. Growing up, we made countless memories together on family vacations, sharing in holiday traditions, and keeping ourselves entertained without power after an earthquake. No matter where life has taken her, from Notre Dame to Italy, Baton Rouge, St. Louis, and now Carterville, we've always found a way to stay close. I've looked up to Jocelyn for as long as I can remember. As we've grown older, I've come to appreciate the special friendship we've created as brother and sister. I feel incredibly lucky to have her in my life, and there's no one I'd rather have by my side when I marry Laura.
