Unfortunately, COVID restrictions have limited event sizes across the country. Venues are lowering guest capacities and cancelling events altogether. To allow everyone in our families a chance to celebrate with us, we have chosen to host adult guests only.
The Barkley House is only a few blocks away from downtown Pensacola. The venue itself has limited parking opportunities. We advise guests who are able to walk a few blocks to park in the numerous lots downtown to save the closer spots for older guests. Uber, Lyft, and other rideshare options are also available all across Pensacola if you prefer to avoid parking altogether.
A few things! First, weather permitting, the event will be held outside. Even though we've planned the festivities for the evening, it may still be hot. Dress accordingly and don't wear shoes that clash with turf (no stilettos, you might sink). There is an indoor area and a covered porch on site for anyone concerned with the heat. Secondly, keep current events and COVID in mind. We will not be making any requirements of you regarding masks or distancing, but if these precautions make you more comfortable that is perfectly fine. If you want to wear a mask or keep your distance feel free to do so.
As you're probably aware, Pensacola and the surrounding areas are popular summer destination spots. This means there are plenty of places to stay that are close to the venue (and all your favorite beach trip spots.) However, this also means that lodging can be competitive during the summer. Condos and hotels in Gulf Shores, Orange Beach, and Pensacola are close enough to be convenient to the venue. AirBNB is also a great option that is often more affordable than traditional condos. If you haven't used AirBNB before and are interested, let us know and we'll guide you through it. If you have any trouble finding somewhere to stay, please let us know and we'll help as much we can. We want everyone to be able to enjoy the sun and sand while we come together to celebrate.
