Time to celebrate!

Ian and Lake met in June of 2018 on a trip to Cambodia through the Virginia Tech chapter of Volunteers Around the World. From there they became good friends and continued to keep up with each other back at school in Blacksburg. Ian was playing the long game, and in the fall of 2019 invited a newly single Lake to a bonfire. The date went so well that a cozy bonfire at 6:00pm suddenly turned into playing pool at 2:00am in Champs Sports Bar, which is also where the couple shared their first kiss… and the rest is history! Lake and Ian now reside in Virginia Beach with their two dogs Mowgli and Lambeau, where they purchased their first home together in July of 2025. Since then, they have been hard at work alongside their supportive family and friends transforming the house from an 80’s nightmare to a coastal chic crib- of course complete with it’s own “garage pub” and pool table so the couple can continue to have many more 2am pool matches.
