Yes! There will be a bus to the reception venue leaving the Downtown Richmond Hilton Hotel (501 E Broad St.) at 5:20 p.m. Another bus will leave the reception venue and take you back to the Hilton at 10:15 p.m. There is ample parking at the reception venue if you prefer to drive.
Not as such. However, we offer these practical considerations to guide you: firstly, that the ceremony is taking place in a Catholic church; secondly, that the church and surrounding neighborhood are "historic", meaning that when selecting a shoe, you may wish to prioritize stability and comfort over aesthetics, at least for the ceremony; thirdly, that the average day in May in Richmond has a high around 78 and a low around 58. Bearing these facts in mind, follow your bliss!
Yes! Both of us grew up going to family weddings, and we treasure those memories as adults. We've tried to plan this event to be accessible and fun for all of our loved ones, not just those of legal majority.
We encourage you to use this time however suits you best! We would especially like to recommend getting a stretch of the legs and taking in the beauty of Church Hill in spring, perhaps stopping in at one of the fine establishments nearby the church for a snack or drink. This is also a great time for smaller guests to run around (in Chimborazo Park, near the church, or Maymont, near the reception) or get a good nap in. Check out the "Things to Do" tab for more ideas :)
