We met in 2013ish (we don’t remember exactly) while working at the Gap. Lainey was still in college at The University of Dayton and would work at the store Michael was a manager at during school breaks. Michael thought Lainey was cute (obviously) and Lainey wasn’t interested in Michael at all. Michael left the Gap in 2015 and Lainey worked there for another year before leaving to focus on grad school. We both went our separate ways and lived our lives for the next 6 years until one day when Michael liked Lainey on a dating app. Lainey messaged Michael back with the opening line “Well well well, if it isn’t Michael Graham” (at the Gap he was known exclusively by his first and last name). Michael asked Lainey out and we met at Pearl’s- a little bar up the street from Lainey’s apartment in Columbia Tusculum- for our first date. We had a great time catching up but Michael didn’t think it went well because Lainey insisted on walking home even though he offered a ride. We went on several more dates and Michael never asked Lainey to be his girlfriend but just started referring to her as such. Since then we’ve done so much together! We have season tickets to UC football and love tailgating and watching the games. We like traveling/road tripping, going to concerts, going out with friends, and exploring our city. Michael moved into Lainey’s Columbia Tusculum apartment and embraced his role as Cat Daddy to Leo and Burnie. Michael proposed where it all started, at Pearl’s, and some of our close friends and family were there too. We keep talking about how it was such an amazing night and we can’t wait to do it all over again with all of the people we love most! Since our engagement, we decided to take the next step and bought our first home in Newport, KY! We have enjoyed making our house our home together and hosting our friends and family.
