Erin Heindel

Maid of Honor

Erin and I grew up together and have been best friends since we met when we were about 8 years old. We were both homeschooled and shared the same kind of humor, maturity, and sarcasm that kept us sane while we helped each other through school. We bonded over our love of reading, Pirates of the Caribbean, Harry Potter, Sherlock Holmes, babies and dogs, texting each other using only GIFs or memes, our interest in cute guys, discussing future wedding details, and our obsession with coffee, as well as our hatred of math, braces, and each other’s baseball team. Fun fact- I was with her in a couple of church plays long before I met Corey. They were somewhat embarrassing but we had fun together. Although we don’t see each other often because she is killing it at her job as an ER Respiratory Therapist at Cleveland Clinic in Ohio, we can always pick up right where we left off like no time has passed. She never fails to make me laugh and I love spending time with my beautiful, sassy, fun-loving yet serious, and intelligent best friend. I am so thankful for her friendship and am honored to have her by my side, not only at the start of this new chapter, but for many years to come.

Leah Sterling

Maid of Honor

Leah and I met at UIW and swam together for three years. She is from Toronto, Canada and came to the US to pursue synchro. We bonded over our love of our sport and baking, and quickly became friends. She is my partner in crime and we have been through a lot together, whether it was going on crazy late night and early morning adventures, weathering COVID, or just going through the daily highs and lows of college life. Fun fact- we called ourselves the “Triage Twins” because we both would switch off being injured in some way and giving our coach a massive headache. This wasn’t easy for either of us to deal with, but we helped each other through it and I was lucky to have her to vent with, laugh with, and do crazy and goofy things together. Leah is incredibly smart, funny, and fun-loving, while also passionate, extremely dedicated, and hard-working. I am so blessed to have met her and so thankful to have had her as my best friend for the past three years. I am honored to have her at my side during this next big moment in my life, and for many years to come.

Maya Plotniskaya

Bridesmaid

Maya and I were both members of the Nevada Desert Mermaids Synchronized Swim Club and we were put on the same team in 2014. We became fast friends, since we were spending 16+ hours a week together. We shared the same great work ethic and had an amazing time swimming together as a duet. We were inseparable at practice and spent a lot of time laughing, making jokes, and splashing each other. She is a Star Trekkie and a major cat lover, and we bonded over sharing weird stories or synchro drama, the Netflix show Sherlock and the YouTube group Studio C, our love of coffee, and boy drama. We dreaded the hard sets that our coach would give us, and would sneak peeks in her notebook when she wasn’t looking. (Sorry Ludi:) When I left for college, Maya made National Team and did an amazing job swimming with them for several years. She is now coaching at our club full time and pursuing an undergraduate degree in Philosophy, as she plans to go to Law School. When I moved back to Vegas, we picked up right where we left off and get coffee as often as possible. Maya is a beautiful soul who never fails to make me laugh with her quirky sense of humor and bluntness. We have been together for so long and I am so thankful to have her with me as I start this new chapter.

Claire Ermer

Bridesmaid

Claire and I met at UIW, where we were teammates and roommates. She is an amazingly sweet, funny, and bubbly person. Even though I’ve only known her for three years, we have been through a lot together, including being put in quarantine, being forced to move out of our dorm, and dealing with noisy neighbors. Her positivity and goofiness helped us through and made the hardships very happy memories. Fun fact- we like to stay up late on our phones and one of us will start giggling about a funny video. We both end up laughing and would procrastinate going to sleep. Even though we aren’t roommates anymore and live in different states, we still talk and share things to make each other laugh. I love having her as a friend and am so excited to have her by my side!
