Dejanira "Dee Dee" and I have been friends for 10 years now. We met through a mutual friend (her now husband) and the rest is history. Dee Dee is the mother to my three beautiful God-children, Tristan, Lailani, and Riley. Her loyalty and love for others is a beautiful testament to her personality.

Cierra is one of the most selfless people I know. We've been friends now for going on five years and it feels like we've known each other forever. Cierra hosts game nights at her house frequently and because of this, I have learned more things about Uno than I ever thought I needed to know haha. Shaheda "Lish" A.K.A "The Queen" and I have been friends since freshman year of college. I honestly can't remember how we met which is fine, in my memories she's just always been there. That actually describes our friendship perfectly. She's always there, no matter what. We've laughed until we've cried, cried until we needed to find a laugh, and have gone on countless adventures together. We are chosen sisters and I'm honored to have her in my tribe.

Tia A.K.A "Tiny Tim" is another chosen sister of mine. We met on the step team in college and I fell in love with her honesty and compassionate nature. Tia and I were raised similarly, we share a lifetime of understandings between us. We often talk about how we'll be old sitting on the porch, in our rocking chairs, snapping green beans while we watch the cars go by. I couldn't dream of a better way to spend my golden years. I look forward to being her "Rosa" for years to come and she, my Tiny Tim.

Wendy is my older cousin, we've had a tight bond since I can remember. She's actually the one who gave me my family nickname that stuck and I still get called "Dawnie" to this day. I've learned what determination is by watching her push through adversity. I admire her for her loving spirit.

Darius is a brother from another mother. I've known him since I was five years old. We've been brothers ever since then. He is truly a friend who sticks by you no matter what. Even though I am older than he is he has taught me a lot especially all the wisdom he gives as I go through life.
