The Wedding Website of Donavan Leroy Lacy and Maribeth Rhoda Herr
Meet our family and friends who are walking down the aisle with us!

Donavan Lacy

Groom

I chose Donavan to be my groom because there’s no one else on the planet I’d rather be with. He is strong and brave and protects me and loves me with his whole heart. He’s gentle and has shown the depth of his character by loving me through a major health issue. He makes me laugh. He’s creative and surprises me and I couldn’t be more proud to call him mine. I can’t wait to grow old with him and choose him every day of my life.

Maribeth Herr

Bride

I chose Maribeth because, I know, deep down, that she is the only one who could put up with me. And at the time of our meeting, I knew she couldn’t run away. But seriously, she is the most amazing, intelligent, funny, loving, witty, cuddleable, perfect human being on this planet, God designed her to perfect, and I can’t think of anyone I would rather spend the rest of my life (and hopefully all eternity) with. Maribeth, will you marry me?

Dakota Lacy

Best Woman

Dakota and I were both teenagers when we had the hilarious idea that she would someday be my “Best Man.” I have not forgotten that conversation. She had always been my best friend, my partner-in-crime, and usually the biggest instigator of whatever trouble the three of us siblings were about to get in to. She is at once a complete lady, but one who can ride horses, split firewood and drink me under the table! I can think of no better person to be my “Best Woman,” and I have a feeling she is going to throw one heck of a Bachelor Party!

Christy Francis

Matron of Honor

I chose Christy to be my matron of honor because she is one of my best friends and someone I really respect! I’ve known her my whole life and have watched her become one of the strongest and wisest women I know. She’s the friend I call when I’m not ok, she’s the one I call for advice or the friend who is willing to help me out when I need a hand. She has a great marriage and someone I’m glad to have in my life as I take this big step into being Donavan’s wife! Also she’s the best female storyteller I know!

Brad Luschinski

Groomsman

I’ve known Brad for two decades now, but in the past four he has become a great friend and mentor. His wisdom and ability to keep things in perspective have always inspired me. He has taken care of my cousin, Shelley, and has raised two fine young men. I look forward to having you up there with me, and now that one of us won’t be on call, we can finally have a few beers!

Amira Burchett

Maid of Honor

I chose Amira to be my maid of honor because it really was a no-brainer. Amira befriended me a few years ago and has been one of the most loyal friends I’ve ever had. We’ve lived together multiple times, walked through significant sickness together and share a lot of memories. Amira is Donavan and I’s favorite person to take along as a third wheel and she loves us with her whole heart. We love her so much! Amira is such a generous person and we’ve been blessed to be on the receiving end of that!

Zach Lacy

Groomsman

Zack is not just my brother, he is also the most honorable and loyal man I know. Though we’ve had our fair share of fights growing up, as all brothers do, I’ve always known that he would have my back if times ever got tough. He is the closest embodiment of our Grandpa Lacy, his character and values, and I can think of no one I’d rather have standing beside me.

Melody Bergey

Bridesmaid

I chose Melody to be my bridesmaid because she is one of my oldest and best friends. We became close after our senior year of high school and have so much shared history! She’s dynamic and always making me laugh... so witty She’s been with me through all the highs and lows of my life and been that friend whose pledged her friendship to me for life. I value her loyalty and love of life. She’s a keeper and one of my friends who’ve I’ve written in permanent marker on my life story.

Josh Connell

Groomsman

Also known as my “brother from another mother,” Josh is one of those guys you know is going to be the life of the party, but also one of those fellas you can call up in the middle of the night if your in a jam. I’m bringing the cigars and Jameson, brother. We’re going to have a good ol’ time.

Amber Henderson

Bridesmaid

I chose Amber to be my because she is a close friend who has walked with me these last few years. We met though a business venture, became friends then set out on our own business venture together! We started WholeFood Delights and have many baking memories together. Amber was the friend I could go to and process my relationship with Donavan when we first started dating. She gives such wise advice!

Mike Yowell

Groomsman

You know, while I was the oldest sibling in my immediate family, I never felt like I didn’t have an older brother. Michael, my older cousin, was my buddy since as long as I can remember. We would play Ninja Turtles and Hot Wheels with me when l was young, and as I got older I began to take up fishing because I wanted to be just like him. I always looked up to him, envied him for all his hot girlfriends, and that blue Chevy Cavalier I used to think was so cool! I love you cousin, and I am honored that you are going to be up there with me on my wedding day!

Kara Herr

Bridesmaid

I chose Kara to be my bridesmaid because it’s no secret she’s my favorite sibling. We share a lot... dramatic personality, air headedness, love for adventure and people, business savvy, and more! She’s creative and so so lovable! I am looking forward to a life-long friendship with this beautiful woman!

James Genda

Groomsman

My Uncle James has always been an inspiration to me. He was my “macho” uncle, the one who rode motorcycles and knew how to have fun. But he also had another side, the side that led him to marry my aunt and to help raise her two children as his own. That is a true man. And I want him up there when I say my vows to my woman and start my new life.

Richard Herr

Bridesman

I chose Richard to be my bridesman because he’s my only brother and deserved to have a special part in our celebration! Richard is one of the most talented and creative young man I know and has a way with people I admire. I can always benefit from his taste in everything from clothing to design! As we all grow up, it’s been a joy to be a part of his life and I’m looking forward to a close friendship as we continue figuring adulthood out!

Don Lacy Sr.

Groomsman and Father of the Groom

Some men have fathers, others have dads. My father belongs to the latter category. I was his little buddy, and until I was a teenager, he was my best friend. We’ve had a couple rough years along the way, as I made myself a man, but as we both get older I feel that relationship we had when I was that “little buckaroo” on the back of Molly beginning to come back. So, dad, I know you want to sit with mom, but I am going to need to borrow you for a couple minutes and have you up there with me. And when all is said and done, we’re going to have a few beers for ol’ times sake.

Ethan McCarty

Bridesman

I chose Ethan to be my bridesman because he’s been a close friend the last couple years in a meaningful way. He was there during a difficult season of life and his companionship and sense of humor made the difficult moments so much easier. He’s been like a brother to me the last couple years, recommending movies, asking my advice on what he should buy, letting me feed him and staying in touch long distance. He was also one of my friends who also became friends which Donavan when he came into my life and we’ve shared fun conversations together!

Patti Lacy

Mother of the Groom

“Mama Bear,” “Munchkin,” you are the coolest lady and the best mother a man could ask for. Thank you for putting up with me for all these years. I know I was an unholy terror at times, climbing up trees and whacking Zack over the head with any number of blunt objects, but you kept me in line and I’d like to think it kept you young. (Now dad, I just don’t know what happened there.) Thank you for letting me wear myself out when I was young so that I could slow down and be the prince of a man Maribeth needed.

Merle Herr

Father of the Bride

I’m honored to have my father walk me down the isle on my special day! Despite our differences, I’ve always been and always will be a daddy’s girl. I am grateful for the way you raised me and I appreciate the time you took to listen to me and rub my feet when I was growing into a woman. I am forever grateful for the financial gifts you’ve given towards getting my health back!

Dillan Yowell

Ring Bearer

Dillon is a prince of a man and a gentleman far beyond his young years. I can think of no one we trust more to be our ring bearer!

Amy Herr

Mother of the Bride

I am so grateful to have the mother I do! We didn’t always get along when we lived under the same roof but these last couple years have brought a growing friendship. I am forever grateful for the time and energy you’ve put into helping me solve my health crisis over the many years I’ve been on this journey!

Destiny Herr

Flower Girl

Destiny is growing to be a fine young lady, and is the image of her mother and older sisters. We are honored to have her laying the path for us on our special day!

Ben and Jecelyn

Honorary Couple

I chose Ben and Jecelyn to be an honorary couple because Jecelyn is one of my favorite people (and now she has this amazing husband to boot)! They just had a little baby that I’m so excited to meet! Jecelyn and I became close when we lived together for a year and we got along so well even though she’s an introvert and I’m an extrovert! She’s taught me so many valuable things and their relationship has inspired me. I was so blessed to be a bridesmaid in their wedding last year! They are one of those couples who we can pick up right where we left off!

Isaiah and Sierra

Honorary Couple

We chose Sierra and Isaiah to be an honorary couple because we love them! We would have given them more responsibility and part in the wedding but they’re planning their own wedding in September! Sierra’s been my (Maribeth) closest sister and we’ve shared many moments together. We are complete opposites but it’s been fun figuring out adulthood together and falling in love around the same time! Her Mr. Right is her perfect fit and we’ve LOVED getting to know Isaiah and drinking his kombucha. Isaiah is known for being able to do more pull ups than Donavan and scoring brownie points with the Mother in an attempt to be the favorite son-in-law. We will let you know how that goes...

Josh and Brandy

Honorary Couple

I chose Josh (and his lovely girlfriend Brandy!) to be an honorary couple because he was one of my closest friends these last two years. He was a friend who stuck by me during my sickness and encouraged me through the ups and downs of life. He made me laugh so much and got me to the gym or out of the house on the days I didn’t think I could. I appreciated his companionship and the way he brings people together! Brandy is the best thing that’s ever happened to him and I’m so excited to watch their love grow!
