It was December 17th, Lacy and Jesus had just had the most magical time at their first Night of Lights at Mammoth Mountain, California the previous night. They woke to have a great Sunday morning, snowboarding out of the mill before the crowds came in. After calling it a half day they returned to their cabin in June Lake for a mimosa brunch with Jesus’ famous chorizo and eggs. It was then Jesus suggested to Lacy “let’s go check out the beach and walk the lake a bit.” Lacy jumped into her xtratufs and was in the passenger seat before he could finish his sentence. Upon arriving at June Lake Beach there was not a soul around, just a lite breeze that put the slightest ripple on the water and rustle in the pines. As they cruised the shoreline, Lacy was distracted by the ice puddles on the shore, stomping on them and then running to the next, she didn’t even notice Jesus nervous demeanor until he grabbed her hand stating, “hold on here for a moment.” Lacy held her breath as Jesus dropped to a knee and pulled a small box from his sock. The gorgeous solitaire ring on Lacy’s hand rivaled the glimmering lake as they walked back towards the main beach and nervous giggles and silly smiles filled the rest of the weekend in beautiful June Lake.
