The Perfect Swipe

June 2, 2021

On Wednesday, June 2, 2021, Sara opened up Hinge and started swiping. Expecting the same experience as always, Sara was surprised when she came across the profile of Will. The picture she finally decided to swipe on? One of Will with a gold facemask on. Why? It made her laugh. A few moments later, Will swiped back. "Please help me I still can't get this mask off," said Will in his first message. Sarcasm and jokes went on for a brief amount of time before Sara had a feeling this guy might be something special. The first official text? "You fool I am a murderer." 20 minutes pass by and a dinner date is planned for that evening. The first plan was an outdoor bar. Once they realized that was closed, Ani Ramen in downtown Jersey City was the spot. Full of noodles, Sara and Will continued the date by sitting on the Hudson chatting about anything and everything. They parted with a hug. Will came over the next day, and the day after that, and never really stopped. Their first photo was taken at the Bronx Zoo. They officially started dating on June 27, 2021. The first "I love you" quickly came on June 28, 2021. They decided to move in together with roommates on March 26, 2022 and officially got their own apartment on May 26, 2023 in Middletown, Delaware. Shortly after moving, Will and Sara decided to bring in a new addition to their growing clan of cats. Baxter now had a sister named Velvet to join the fun! Velvet was officially adopted on August 26, 2023. Sara and Velvet share a very special day together because that night, Will popped the big question: will you marry me? Here's how it went down: Sara's belated birthday dinner was set at Schaefer's Canal House. Before they could arrive, they had to pick up Will's bass guitar, since he supposedly loaned it to a student trying to learn the bass. In reality, Will had spent the afternoon setting the studio space up for a romantic moment. Rose petals adorned the floor to the room with a plush chair and heart on the floor. Will stood in the center of the spot and played Sara Smile by Daryl Hall & John Oates on his blue bass guitar before getting on one knee. "Of course I will marry you," Sara said. They then drove off to the restaurant to be greeted by Sara's mother, grandmother's, uncle, best friend, and Will's parents. After full stomachs and countless congratulations, they went home to their two cats and went to sleep as fiancés.
