Our story began when we first met on April 26th, 2015. I had decided to last minute invite myself to my sister’s plans, as I had just graduated nursing school and needed to get out and be social after living under a rock. It was a group activity and Eric was currently dating someone else at the time so neither of us even had a thought that something would happen in the future. Not to mention, the plans included an improv comedy show that I absolutely hated, and everyone thought I was the opposite of fun. They all learned a lesson that you question my fun status and I get up on stage. Flash forward a couple months and it was time to celebrate Eric’s birthday. 24 was a good year, because even though he was still in the same relationship, Eric finally gave into the fact that I caught his eye and began questioning what he really wanted. After he couldn’t get me off his mind (as I kept popping into his plans), and he finally became single, Eric met with my sister to discuss asking me out. That was almost the wrong decision as my sister’s advice included that she thought I would rather be with his best friend (Nope, Sorry Phil!). November 9th, you asked, and I said yes. Our first date (Applebee’s and a movie) was November 20th and by December 7th we were official. Of course, that day falling on a Saturday in 2019, it HAD to be our wedding date.
Lacie and I had been dating for a few years and I finally decided to pop the question in the summer of 2017. The timing was perfect because we were going on our yearly vacation to Maine (it was also my first time meeting that part of her family). Lacie mentioned numerous times that one of her favorite things to do in Maine was to go to Bar Harbor and drive up Cadillac Mountain. Of course, one of our days there, that is what we did. It was a beautiful sunny day and when we reached the top we were overlooking the ocean. What is more perfect? With her family present and videotaping without her knowing, I got down on one knee, showed her the ring, and asked her to marry me. Lacie was in complete shock and it seemed like an eternity before she finally said yes! July 21st, 2017 will always be one of the happiest days of my life.
