The Love Shack is right around the corner from the venue. Stop over between the ceremony and the reception to enjoy select $5 tropical cocktails and $3 beers with gorgeous views of the river and city skyline.
We love the Public Market! Salads and paninis from The Green Kitchen are Lisa's go-to, while Patrick likes the Falafel from Aladdin. Don't miss the cake bites from C. Adams Bakery (red velvet is the best!). They pair perfectly with a cup of locally roasted coffee from Anodyne.
Home of the best ice cream ever. Trust us, Lisa's tried a LOT of ice cream in her life. Salted caramel is the best flavor, though the whiskey flavor is tasty, too. You can't go wrong. Try a flight of ice cream so you can sample several flavors.
A beautiful place for a walk by Lake Michigan. We often run around the Urban Island, and Patrick has done a little fly-fishing in the lagoon. Gorgeous views of the Milwaukee skyline!
Quite possibly our favorite restaurant. Must-try dishes: Pork egg rolls, dumplings, special pho, and the ginger noodle bowl.
One of Patrick's go-to record stores. Generally good selection of new and used records.
Walk along the Milwaukee River, through the Third Ward and into Downtown. Lots of historic buildings line the river, and many of the restaurants and bars have gorgeous outdoor patios to enjoy a drink or a bite to eat.
This is one of our favorite bars. The concealed entrances add to the fun atmosphere. Often has live music on Friday & Saturday nights. They have tasty speakeasy-inspired cocktail. (Check their website for hours before you go!)
One of many great breweries in the area! Plenty of selection, cool space. A great spot for a beer or two in the afternoon!
Very fun rooftop bar in The Kimpton Journeyman Hotel. Worth having a drink here for the views and cool ambiance!
A gorgeous spot for a walk by Lake Michigan! Wander all the way to Bradford Beach, or walk out along the breakwater for awesome views of the city.
Not only does Anodyne have some of the best coffee, this location is also one of our favorite venues to see live music. The small stage and cozy atmosphere makes every show fun. It's also a great place for breakfast.
Just around the corner from our condo, this newer brewery is one of our spots to go for a low-key evening. The beer isn't the best you can find in Milwaukee, but the dart board is always open and the atmosphere is laid-back.
Delicious Pan-Asian restaurant with great drinks. A little on the pricier side, but the food is phenomenal. Sometimes, Lisa and Patrick come over just to split the Pork Pancake. So tasty. The outside patio is perfect for apps and a drink.
Get there early because they sell out (especially on weekends). Flavors vary from passionfruit coconut to whiskey salted chocolate to peanut butter bacon. They have some more classic flavors, too, but half the fun is trying something a little off-the-wall.
This bar has an up north theme, great beer selection and free popcorn. Lisa is partial to their take on a Moscow Mule. The dart board is often open for a round or two!
A lovely out-of-the-way spot for a meal or drinks with appetizers. The Sail Loft is right on a quieter stretch of the Milwaukee River, and has a fun nautical theme. Lisa and Patrick have enjoyed meals and apps here all year round.
