Question

What date should I RSVP by?

Answer

Kindly RSVP by May 17, 2025. On the wedding website you can go to the RSVP tab. In the search bar please put your full name to find the invitation. If you are having issues please contact our planner Deslie Gordon.

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Yes ! The dress code for the traditional wedding which is on June 28th will be African attire, or semi-formal. The dress code for June 29th is formal attire. We suggest men wear a suit and women wear a formal or cocktail gown. Please avoid wearing shades of white, emerald, burnt orange. Also, please no sweatpants, T-Shirts (unless over a blazer), shorts, or jeans.

Question

Can our children attend the wedding?

Answer

While we love your little ones, our wedding will be adults-only with the exception of our closest little ones who are apart of the wedding party. We appreciate you making arrangements ahead of time so you could celebrate with us.

Question

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

Due to limited capacity of our venues, we are unable to accommodate plus ones unless they are specifically indicated on your invite. If there is confusion, when you RSVP and type in your name, you will be able to see if you have a plus one. Thank you so much for understanding.

Question

Which hotel is reserved for room blocks?

Answer

We partnered with Courtyard by Marriot Westbury Long Island. Please refer to our Travel tab for more information.

Question

Will I be invited to both wedding ceremonies?

Answer

We are so excited to celebrate our special day with our loved ones! Since we are having two ceremonies—one traditional Ghanaian and one American—we, unfortunately, cannot accommodate everyone for both days. Each ceremony holds special significance, and guest attendance has been planned accordingly. When you access the RSVP tab, it will indicate which celebration you are invited to. If additional space becomes available, we will extend more invitations and keep you updated. We truly appreciate your understanding and support, and no matter which day you attend, we promise it will be a joyous and unforgettable experience!

Question

What time should I arrive?

Answer

The June 28th ceremony begins at 5pm and the June 29th ceremony begins at 6:30pm. We ask that everyone arrive 15-30 minutes prior to the ceremony to allow time for parking and finding your seat.

Question

What if I cant make it?

Answer

You will be dearly missed. If you cannot make it to the wedding, please make sure to still RSVP "not attending". If you've been invited to both of our wedding days but can only attend one, please make sure to RSVP "Yes" for the day you'll be joining us and "Not attending" for the day you can not attend. This will help us plan accordingly. We can't wait to celebrate with you!

Question

Can I take pictures during the Ceremony?

Answer

We ask that when the ceremony begins all phones are silenced and put away. We want everyone to be fully present with no distractions. We also want to allow our photographers to be able to capture the best moments. Once the ceremony is over please feel free to take as many photos as you like.

Question

Will there be an open bar?

Answer

Yes! We will have an open bar for our guests to enjoy. So come ready to celebrate, sip, and toast to love! We encourage everyone to arrange transportation to ensure you get home safely.

Question

Will the wedding be indoor or outdoor?

Answer

Everything will be held indoors except for the American ceremony on day 2.
