Our Love Story

#TheUmoruLoveStory

We may never know if we experienced “love at first sight” but our love story is much more magical than that. It dates back to 2013 (or earlier) when Lacenia and Bryan were high schoolers. They had several mutual friends through the sport of basketball because Bryan was very dedicated to the sport back then. It went on to them seeing each other here and there at different sports events and later on becoming friends. We’d keep in touch with each other as we matured and became good friends during our collegiate years. It was through hardships and life events that we stayed in touch which made our connection more define than ever. We then classified ourselves as “best friends” when Bryan graduated from Adam state university and Lacenia flew to Colorado to be at his graduation. Bryan did the same and was present at Lacenia’s college graduation from the University of Houston back in 2017. Fast forward to March of 2024, Bryan and Lacenia are still the best of friends from a distance. Bryan had since lived in Tasmania, Australia , Tyler, TX and other places while Lacenia started her Logistics career in Houston, TX. Bryan invites Lacenia to an Afrobest party in Houston one weekend and this is where he felt a different type of love for Lacenia after having a wonderful evening of dancing, eating and hanging out with friends. They were golden after this. Weeks and months later, Bryan and Lacenia were pouring into each other each and every day. Sharing Bible verses weekly, attending church together when they were in the same city and falling in love with each other over audio text messages and FaceTime calls, unknowingly! On April 16, 2024 Bryan vulnerably expressed to Lacenia that he wanted “more of her” and since then. They have been inseparable! Keeping God first in their relationship and walking in agreement with each other (Amos 3:3) into their married lifestyle.
