FAQs

Question

Will we be livestreaming the wedding?

Answer

We are! Please visit the link below to watch the celebration of our wedding mass virtually. https://www.youtube.com/live/mexBpkj7AJ4?feature=shared

Question

When is the RSVP deadline?

Answer

We know that this is a super busy time of year, but please reply prior to January 1st using the RSVP tab on the wedding website. You will be able to respond for all the guests listed on your wedding invitation. If you need to change your RSVP, please contact us directly at labadieatlast@gmail.com.

Question

Where do you recommend I stay in the area?

Answer

We have a block of rooms reserved at the Staybridge Suites, Houston NW Cypress Crossing. The hotel is just under 3 miles from the church and less than 7 miles from the reception venue so it’s easy to get to both spots. Please see the Travel Section of the wedding website for a link to reserving your room within the room block.

Question

What’s the dress code?

Answer

While the bridal party will be in formal wear, the suggested attire for guests is semi-formal/cocktail attire. Think cocktail dresses or a suit and tie. While it will technically be winter, it is also Texas "winter" so florals and spring colors are encouraged. Whatever you wear, just be sure you have your dancing shoes on!

Question

Who can I bring with me?

Answer

When your formal invitation arrives, the inner envelope will list all the guests that we are able to accommodate at the venue.

Question

Where are the ceremony and the reception taking place?

Answer

The ceremony will take place at our home parish, Christ the Redeemer Catholic Church, and the reception will take place about 10 minutes from the church at The Springs Cypress. (Be sure you navigate to the Cypress location!) Both locations are fully accessible and include ADA ramps and elevator access.

Question

What’s the parking situation like for the weekend?

Answer

Both the church and the reception venue have abundant free parking, so you are welcome to drive to both locations. Of course, you can also use Uber/Lyft to get around, especially if you want to really enjoy that open bar on Saturday!

Question

What will the weather be like this time of year?

Answer

While daily high temperatures in January are around 64°F and rarely fall below 48°F, Houston weather is quite variable in the winter. For the most accurate info, please check your favorite weather app a few days before the wedding.

Question

Will all of the events on Saturday be indoors?

Answer

If the weather is pleasant, the cocktail hour will take place in the walled garden at The Springs Cypress. If we get one of our rare cold or rainy days in Houston, the cocktail hour will move indoors. All other events are indoors.

Question

What time should I arrive?

Answer

Please arrive at the church for the Nuptial Mass between 1:30 and 1:50pm. The processional and Mass will begin promptly at 2pm, so arriving a little bit early allows our handsome ushers time to seat the guests.

Question

I’m Catholic; does the Nuptial Mass fulfill my Sunday Obligation?

Answer

The wedding will take place in a Nuptial Mass; however, since the wedding takes place at 2pm, it will not replace your Sunday Obligation. Feel free to come back to Christ the Redeemer on the Sunday following the wedding at 7am, 9am, 11am, or 5pm for one of the celebrations of the Sunday liturgy.

Question

What happens after the ceremony?

Answer

Guests are welcome to head to the reception venue shortly after the conclusion of the Mass. Cocktail hour begins at The Springs Cypress at 3:30pm.

Question

Will dinner and drinks be served at the reception?

Answer

There will be passed hors d'oeuvres during cocktail hour and a seated dinner during the reception. An open bar will also be available during cocktail hour and the reception. If you have severe food allergies or dietary restrictions, please email us prior to January 1st to see if our caterer can accommodate those dietary needs at labadieatlast@gmail.com.

Question

Do you have any recommendations for where to eat, points of interest, or things to do?

Answer

Yes! We recommend visiting the “Things to Do” page of our wedding website, where we’ve compiled all of our favorite fun things to do in the area and local dining hot spots including delish Texas BBQ and Tex-Mex just minutes from the wedding hotel.

Question

I have more questions. Whom should I contact?

Answer

Prior to the wedding weekend, feel free to email us at labadieatlast@gmail.com. During the wedding weekend, all wedding emergencies will be handled by our wedding coordinator, Jessie Young at 832-723-0941
