He was sweating. Not because the hiking trail was physically demanding or because he was generally adverse to all forms of exercise, but because there was a small but important box in his backpack. The whole way up, he was scanning for meaningful spots; spots to get down on one knee and commit himself to the woman of his dreams. At the top of the mountain, after climbing for what he imagined as an entire day, there was disappointment. He pictured breath stealing views. Instead, there were trees concealing the proposal site he envisioned. “Such a waste”. On the descent he pitched ideas about trekking neighboring trails. Almost giving up the thought entirely, fearing there was nothing in the forest but missed opportunity, running water was overheard. Almost sprinting to the sound of cascading water, they discovered a bridge and car sized rocks stretched across a beautiful creek. Contemplating the spot; considering it as a special place in their history he thought, “This is it”. It couldn’t be better. “Let me get a picture of you”.
