As almost everyone knows, Gentry and I met online. Looking back to when we first started to chat, Gentry was always a gentleman. I remember thinking "I wonder how long he gonna keep this up." Days passed and we decided to meet in person, so I made the long trek to Mount Sterling. He introduced me to his sweet family and they welcomed me from the start. All this time, he's still just as big of a gentleman as he was from day one.
Fast forward six months: Gentry and I took a trip to Raleigh, NC to visit family and see Jason Aldean in concert. Unfortunately, the concert venue was outdoors and it was quite literally raining sideways, so the concert was rescheduled. We were bummed about the concert but happy that we got to see my aunt, uncle, and cousins. To make the most of our last day, we visited Duke's beautiful campus and the Sarah P Duke Gardens. Around one of the trails was a beautiful pond with tons of turtles swimming around. I was sitting on the steps watching the turtles swim when I heard Gentry giggling behind me. I turned around to see if he was noticing how cute I was being, but really he'd been on one knee waiting for me to turn around for five minutes. He told me how much I meant to him and that he wanted to share a future with me. Saying yes was never a question. When you know, you know.
