They met at the infamous Sign of the Whale. Instead of the normal stories of two people meeting at a bar, they met while working there. It was business as usual in the beginning; just a guy hitting on a girl. When Darren started working, all the guys lovingly gave him the nickname of Dewey circa Malcolm in the Middle. For quite some time Kylie thought that was his actual name. When he had asked the guys her name, he mistakenly heard it as Heidi. She was fairly uninterested especially after he called her the wrong name but he never gave up (lucky for her!) A short time later he asked her to go to the Marine Corps Ball which was a mere 7 months out... After repeated attempts at grabbing drinks or going on a date, no progress had been made. It wasn't until he invited some lady friends to the bar on a night when she was working that things changed. He will tell you that she was suddenly interested and jealous but she will tell you that these girls were rather bothersome. She pulled him aside for a quick shot to give him a little gleam of hope. He later asked her on a date and she said yes! He picked her up in his Jeep with the top down, grabbed dinner and rode the Ferris wheel. Fast forward over a million minutes. While on his family's vacation to Disney World he proposed in front of the castle at Magic Kingdom - who knew he could be so romantic! Tears were flowing and now they cannot wait to celebrate their marriage with you!
