How It All "Kicked" Off

Every great love story has a spark. Todd and Kylie’s just happened to come with fireworks… Kylie and Todd’s story begins, as many great American love stories do, at a Fourth of July party- complete with yard games, questionable athleticism, and just a hint of chaos. The party was hosted by their friends Sabrina and Tony, who unknowingly set the stage for what would eventually become this. Naturally, things got competitive. Kylie’s friends versus Todd’s friends in a series of yard games that quickly escalated in intensity (and probably volume). The highlight? A legendary game of kickball. Todd, showing off his well-known soccer skills, had a tendency to absolutely launch the ball… repeatedly… into the woods. And somehow, Kylie kept being the one to retrieve it. Whether this was strategy or coincidence is still up for debate. As the day went on, the competition shifted to flippy cup, where things became even more serious. There are differing accounts of how the games played out, and while no official ruling has been made, there are whispers that Kylie may have taken a few creative liberties with the rules. Todd would like the record to reflect that the investigation is ongoing. Life went on, as it does, but a few years later they reconnected. As it turns out, sometimes the best stories don’t start all at once. Todd planned their first official date, setting the bar high with a Harry Potter–themed coffee flight (because nothing says romance like a little magic), followed by virtual golf. While Todd may have had confidence going in, Kylie quickly made things interesting… by beating him. Fair and square. Luckily for Todd, she was gracious about it… mostly. From that point on, things just clicked. What started as a chance meeting turned into something steady, fun, and full of laughter. The kind of relationship where competition still exists—but now it comes with a lot more cheering for each other, too.
