Flight
• Florence (FLR) ~50 minutes by car / ~55 minutes by train The most convenient way to reach Lucca. You may need a connecting flight through a major airport. • Rome (FCO) ~3.5 hours by car / ~2.5-3 hours by train Many guests are choosing Rome for more direct international flight options and affordability. From Rome, you can either rent a car or take a high-speed train to Florence, then continue on to Lucca. • Pisa (PSA) ~30 minutes by car / ~30 minutes by train
Train
1. Take a taxi or shuttle from the airport to the city’s central train station-From Florence airport, station: Firenze S. M. Novella 2. Book a train to Lucca via www.trenitalia.com. Note: From Rome, you’ll need to change trains at least once (often in Florence or Pisa), but Trenitalia will map your full itinerary and allow online ticket purchase.
Rental Car
If you’re planning to explore the Tuscan countryside before or after the wedding, we highly recommend renting a car at the airport. Rental cars are a hot commodity in summer so booking far in advance is recommended! Tip: Europe drives on the same side as us.
Travel Note
We have arranged a shuttle service to facilitate those who reside outside the venue. The center of Lucca is a pedestrian zone so, unfortunately, it is not possible for the shuttle to pick up all guests in front of their hotel. For this reason, the pick up and drop off point for all festivities will always be the same, i.e.: outside the PORTA SANTA MARIA LUCCA. Click the link below for directions.
Travel Note
While we are not providing room blocks, we’re happy to recommend some of our favorite accommodations in and around Lucca that we think you’ll love. Whether you prefer a charming boutique hotel, a cozy guesthouse, or a luxury villa, we’ll share links to the best options nearby to make booking easy.
