We met in college since we were both part of the same college church ministry. I pretty quickly fell for Chris by witnessing his kind-heartedness, helpfulness, sense of humor, and humbleness (not to mention his good looks!) I liked him for the next several years, trying to get to know him better by casually talking to him at church, trying to take the trash out the same time as him, and sitting next to him at events any chance I got. One summer, we were both in town and lived near each other. We got to hang out much more that summer with a few of our other close friends. We had movie nights, went on runs together with some friends, went to dinner together, and he even joined me and my family on an antiquing trip! That summer, we definitely felt like there was something going on between us (and got asked about it by many friends 😉). Those feelings continued throughout that Fall semester. In early January, we both talked and shared how we felt. The feelings were mutual! YAY! In January of 2015, he took me to a local park and asked me to be his girlfriend. 😊 Fun Fact: It was the same nature trail he proposed at almost exactly 7 years later (pictured below).
