Our Story

Whatever our souls are made of, his and mine are the same.

After nearly six years of being absolute best friends, it seems there is no perfect place to begin describing our relationship. We became pretty much inseparable throughout college at Texas A&M University (Whoop!). We spent countless hours "grinding it out" (as Michael would say) studying in the library, going to Fightin' Texas Aggie football games, working out together, cooking together, and ultimately navigating life together. Upon graduating from college, our love has grown from a fun-loving infatuated college sweet hearts kind of love, to a spiritually grounded companionship. We had to grow up together very fast, which has made us so strong. Today, we love supporting each other in our careers and endeavors. Our first year out of college, Michael not only worked as a full time accountant but also a full time HTC boyfriend, which is quite the duty. We love growing with each other, reading together, talking about a future family, going to the gym together, watching The Office and cracking up with each other, and cooking up healthy meals! We are ready to finally tie the knot!!

The Proposal

For Kylie's 25th birthday, Michael took her back to College Station, Texas, where they first met and spent the majority of their relationship, for a day of surprises. For previous birthdays in college, Michael always orchestrated an all day date that consisted of gifts and events, so it was not out of the ordinary for Michael to tell Kylie he was planning a weekend birthday trip to College Station. Upon arriving, they ate at their favorite lunch spot, and Michael took Kylie to get her nails done. After this, Michael also surprised her with a stay at the Stella Hotel in a corner suite! Michael then told her to get ready for a dinner at Christopher's World Grille. He anxiously bit his nails and paced back and forth as she took well over the two hours scheduled in the timeline to get ready. Needless to say, they were late for dinner. At the restaurant, Michael suddenly was unable to eat his dinner and immediately bagged up all the food before they ate much of anything. He insisted on not missing the "golden hour" for pictures at Messina Hoff winery. At this point, Kylie new something must be up, especially since he started tearing up on the ride over to Messina Hoff and claimed it was because the song on the radio was "emotional". Upon arrival, Michael anxiously asked Kylie to walk around the trail by the pond outside the winery and yet again started tearing up. This time he claimed the crying was because of the turtles in the pond reminding him of his pet turtles running away when he was younger. Don't worry, he laughs about this now! Around the corner, Kylie saw rose petals covering the path and two wire chairs set up under a gazebo with a Bible placed on a wine barrel in the middle. Little did Kylie know, her best friend Tess and her husband Eron were in the bushes capturing the moment. Soon after the proposal, all of the invited friends and family appeared from the winery to greet the newly engaged couple on the happiest day of their lives thus far.
