Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

We can’t wait to dance the night away with our favorite people! Formal cocktail attire is recommended and preferred. For guys, that means suit and optional tie, and for women, a formal midi-length to floor length dress. We also recommend wearing shoes that are comfortable to walk near sand and gravel in, such as wedges, sandals, block heels, etc. Please note that Florida gets.... warm in the spring, with highs of up to 80 degrees at the end of March. Bright and springy colors, garden party vibes and floral patterns are highly encouraged, but we aren't the boss of you :-) Feel free to lean into the tropical -- all we ask is no jeans and no white dresses, please. For the welcome party, no need for a tie (unless you want one!) Button downs, sundresses, khakis, sandals/wedges are all totally fine.

Are kids welcome?

Answer

Although we love your kids, in order to give our guests (and parents!) a night of relaxation, we respectfully request no children under 16 at our wedding.

When does the ceremony begin?

Answer

The ceremony will begin promptly at 4:00pm. Please arrive at least 15-30 minutes prior to the ceremony to find parking (it can be tough on island!) and to find a seat. Guests arriving after this time will not be able to be seated until the ceremony concludes.

When does the reception begin?

Answer

Cocktail hour will start promptly at 5:30 p.m. at the Old Captiva House at 'Tween Waters Resort and Spa. The reception will continue from there until 10 p.m.

Where are the ceremony and reception taking place?

Answer

All events are held on Captiva Island, Florida, about 45 minutes away from Ft. Myers. Our ceremony will be held at the Chapel By The Sea, with the cocktail hour and reception held at Old Captiva House at 'Tween Waters Resort. They are roughly 0.8 of a mile distance.

Is there a place to stay not on the island?

Answer

There are plenty of options for places to stay for those looking to stay off island! A causeway bridge connects Sanibel/Captiva to Ft. Myers, so don't worry about not being able to drive if that's your plan. However, please note that we won't have transportation available from off island to our venues, so we do ask that you plan accordingly! Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

Due to extremely limited space at both of our venues, we are only able to accommodate guests who are formally invited on your wedding invitation. If you received a plus one, they will appear under your name when you RSVP . Thank you for understanding -- we'd love to hang with your loved ones another time! (However if you are besties with Taylor Swift, Michael Jordan, or anyone from the band Pinegrove, this doesn't apply. Please bring them. Please.)

What else should I bring to Florida?

Answer

... besides your dancing shoes + a big smile, we recommend packing some travel sunscreen (it gets hot!), a pair of sunglasses and your swimsuit if you're down for a pool or ocean dip!

What should I do if I can't make it?

Answer

1) You will be missed! 2) We totally get that things come up. If you can't attend the wedding, please indicate your regrets on the RSVP tab so we can plan accordingly. Thank you for giving us a heads-up!
