BC Ferrys

Traveling to Powell River via BC Ferries from Horseshoe Bay Terminal is a beautiful alternative to flying and a memorable part of the journey itself. The trip is approximately 5.5 hours in total, broken up by two scenic ferry rides that showcase a different side of coastal BC. We highly recommend taking your time along the way—stop in the small towns, enjoy the ocean views, discover a new hike, and make the journey part of the experience. It’s the perfect opportunity to slow down, explore, and turn your travel into an unforgettable west coast adventure! Getting Here: HorseShoe Bay - Langdale ~40mins Earls Cove - Saltry Bay ~50mins If traveling by ferry, please ensure you book your HorseShoe Bay - Langdale ferry route well in advance as it is known to become booked out in summer months. Earls Cove to Saltry bay is a free first come first serve route.

Flight

Pacific Coastal

Pacific Coastal Airlines offers direct flights to Powell River from the South Terminal at Vancouver International Airport (YVR). The flight takes approximately 18 minutes, with up to four flights available daily, making it one of the fastest and most convenient ways to reach Powell River. Rental cars are available directly at the Powell River Airport. The rental car desk opens 30 minutes before each scheduled arrival and remains open for 30 minutes after the flight lands. Public transit is also available from the airport, making it easy to reach your hotel if you choose not to rent a vehicle.

Harbour Air

Harbour Air offers direct floatplane service from Coal Harbour in Vancouver. The flight takes approximately 40 minutes and lands at Powell Lake (Inland Lake), just outside of town. Flight service is seasonal, and availability varies by day, we recommend booking early. Please note that there is no public transportation available from the floatplane terminal. We recommend arranging a taxi in advance.
