Babcock State Park
A little far, but a nice place to explore! The Glade Creek Grist Mill is a "famous" spot in the park that's commonly photographed.
Beckley Exhibition Coal Mine
Mon-Sun 10am to 5pm If you have little ones, or if history is your thing, take a tour of an old, underground coal mine and a recreated coal camp right in Beckley.
Blueberry Hill
This is a "U-Pick" blueberry farm! Their website may be a little jenky, but this place is the real deal. Sophie and her family used to come here in the summertime to pick buckets of blueberries. It's especially fun for little ones!
Bridge Brew Works
Tues-Sun 1pm to 9pm / Closed Monday This cool brewery has outdoor seating and a different food truck every day!
Bridge Walk
This is not for anyone who's scared of heights! Here you can walk the catwalk underneath the New River Gorge Bridge while fastened to a safety cable.
Campestre
Lunch, Dinner and Drinks. Mon-Sat 11 am to 10 pm / Sun 11:30 am to 9 pm Popular sit-down Mexican-American restaurant - Sophie likes the Campestre shrimp tacos and the margaritas!
Canyon Rim Visitor Center
Mon-Sun 9am to 5pm The easiest way to see the New River Gorge! It's close to Fayetteville, right off the freeway - walk the boardwalk for a view of the gorge and surrounding mountains, and check out the visitor's center for an indoor view, plus an exhibit.
Cathedral Cafe
Coffee, Breakfast and Lunch. Sat-Sun 7:30am to 3pm / Closed Wednesdays / Other Days 8am to 3pm Popular breakfast joint inside a cool old church.
Chocolate Moose
Coffee, Ice Cream, Mini Golf and Indoor Climbing Gym. Hours: Mon-Fri 7am to 9pm / Sat 8am to 9:30pm / Sun 1pm to 9pm Super cute, popular local coffee shop with a twist.
Endless Wall Trail
Endless Wall Trail is the perfect hike for amazing views of the New River Gorge! After a 25-30 minute shaded hike from the parking lot, there are multiple viewpoints on the trail - right on the rim of the gorge! The trail can get muddy when it rains, so don't bring your fancy shoes. Be aware that the trail is not suitable for strollers. And be careful near the edge!
Hilltop Coffee Co
Coffee and Snacks. Mon-Sun 6:30am to 9pm Another local coffee shop - there are two locations (one in Oak Hill, one in Crab Orchard). The Crab Orchard location is bigger, cuter and has more seating - but, the coffee is just as good at the Oak Hill location near Fayetteville.
Long Point Trail
Long Point trail is a longer hike through the woods, with a beautiful viewpoint of the New River Gorge! Endless Wall Trail is easier and has more views, but this one is nice, too! The trail can get EXTREMELY muddy when it rains, so don't bring your fancy shoes, and don't go here if it's been raining! Be aware that the trail is not suitable for strollers.

Lunch, Dinner and Drinks. Sun-Thurs 11am to 9pm / Fri-Sat 11am to 10pm Upscale sandwiches, burgers, salads, drinks & more. Kyle's favorite sandwich is called the "Roosevelt," and Sophie's is the "Fillmore."
Southside Junction Tap House
Bar and Grill. Mon-Fri 4pm to 10pm / Sat 2pm- to 2am / Sun 2pm to 9pm Cool little bar in downtown Fayetteville.
Summersville Lake
Summersville Lake is absolutely beautiful - it's one of the most popular attractions around! You can go boating, fishing, kayaking, paddle boarding, hiking, or swimming at the beach - there are multiple access points so you'd want to do some research to pick the right access point to go to (depending on the activity you'll be doing).
Tamarack Marketplace
Art Exhibits and Shopping. Mon-Sun 9am to 7pm The Tamarack features many crafts, snacks, and items made by local artists.
Tequila Taco Bar
Lunch, dinner, & drinks. Mon-Sat 11am to 10pm / Sun 11am to 9:30pm New restaurant in town! Kyle likes their carne asada tacos, Sophie loves their margaritas!
Wood Iron Eatery
Coffee, Breakfast and Lunch. Mon-Sun 8:30am to 2:30pm / Closed Tuesdays 10/10 amazing breakfast burritos. This is our favorite breakfast spot in the area! We'll be meeting up at this cafe for some much-needed breakfast and coffee after our hike on Friday morning! :)
