9:00 am - 11:00 am
It's the day before the wedding - time to get our manicures! ♡ We're due to arrive at 9:00 AM - Amber, Danielle, Madison, Nicole, Ashley, Bella, and Sophia. Apologies for the early hour - since we're a large group, we've been scheduled for an early appointment! :)
5:00 pm - 5:45 pm
To our close family and bridal party who will be walking down the aisle - Sophie, Kyle, Bella, Chase, Jenni, Kevin, and Ashley - please join us at The Gaines Estate at 5 pm to quickly go over the ceremony with the wedding coordinator and our officiant.
6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Join us for delicious drinks & pizza at one of our favorite restaurants! We'll be there at 6 pm to welcome you to our wedding weekend with big hugs, beer, pizza, and your wedding favor gift-bags!
2:30 pm - 3:30 pm
Today is the wedding day! To our close family, please arrive early and meet inside the main Gaines Estate house by 2:30, to take formal family photos before heading to the ceremony site.
4:00 pm - 4:30 pm
Today is the wedding day! Ceremony seating begins at 3:30 - there will be a sign directing you to the outdoor ceremony site. Please try to take your seats by 3:50, as the ceremony will begin promptly at 4 pm! Parking: Turn into The Gaines Estate, follow the road past the main house on the right, and past the second building on the left. There are a few parking spots past the second building. If those spots are full, keep driving a little farther, and park in the gravel parking lot.
4:30 pm - 5:30 pm
After the ceremony, cocktail hour will take place inside the main Gaines Estate house - we'll have a few appetizers in addition to our open bar. At 5:30, you'll be invited to join us in the pavilion building for dinner, more drinks, and dancing!
5:45 pm - 10:00 pm
We'll move from the main house to the indoor pavilion to start the reception, where we'll take our seats. After the first dance, we'll have dinner, toasts, cake and desserts, a bouquet toss, a t-shirt toss, and dancing!
9:00 am
Join us for a hike with amazing views of the New River Gorge, if you're up for it! We'll meet at 9 am in the large spillover parking lot, which is 500 feet past the Nuttall Parking lot (the address above). This is a popular hiking spot, so carpooling is a good idea. We'll have water, snacks, bug spray, and sunscreen for anyone who needs it! The hike may take around 2.5 hours (depending on how long we stop for pictures), but it's not a difficult trail. Dress for warm weather, with tennis shoes/hiking shoes - the trail may have some muddy spots. After a shaded hike from the parking lot, there are multiple viewpoints on the trail - right on the rim of the gorge. It's the most beautiful hike around! Also, be aware that the trail can be a little bit steep at some points, so unfortunately it's not suitable for strollers. The top portion of the trail is a steep drop off with no railing (like a mini-grand canyon), so we don't recommend bringing little ones.
12:00 pm
Join us at noon for coffee & food at one of our favorite spots, Wood Iron Eatery, after our hike! It's a counter-service cafe with a small, but delicious menu - which you can view at the link here: https://www.woodironeatery.com/menu
6:00 pm
Join us at our home for food, drinks, Pictionary, and Bride + Groom Trivia! Make sure you bring your A-game - there will be prizes for the winners! Parking: Madison Street is a one way road. On the righthand side of the street you can park next to: the basketball court, Sophie and Kyle's house, the empty grass lot, or house 325 (Ashley's house). On the lefthand side of the street, you can park next to: the first two houses on the street, or the empty grass lot. You can also park next to the large building at 401 Main Street - the businesses there will be closed by that time of the evening. Carpool if you can! Since Madison Street is a narrow road, you may want to do as the locals do, and park with your tires up on the sidewalk to make more room on the road.
8:00 am
Join us for a private whitewater rafting adventure! During our guided trip, we'll get to go over rapids, swim, cannonball off of Jump Rock, stop for a riverside picnic lunch, see the New River Gorge Bridge from below, and make a whole lot of memories. A separate info sheet has been sent to all rafters, including directions to ACE, information on what to wear, what to bring, what to expect, and how to sign the waiver. You can read more about the rafting trip by copy/pasting this link: https://aceraft.com/product/private-group-rafting/ The tickets are $150 per person, or pay what you can! You can send contributions through Zelle (to Kyle Potter, 858-999-7084), or cash on the day of. If the only reason you might not want to go is the price - then your ticket's on the house, you're coming with us! ♡
6:30 pm
As our wedding weekend comes to a close, join us for our last hurrah - a fun BBQ party hosted by Sophie's mom, Ashley! If you're too tired after rafting no worries - but we hope you can make it!
8:00 am - 1:00 pm
Today is June 15th - Sophie and Kyle's nine year anniversary (of dating)! ♡ Feel free to stop by our place to say goodbye on your way out of town - we'll have coffee, OJ, energy drinks, pastries, bagels, donuts, etc. available all morning, for here or to-go, if you'd like to grab some snacks and give us one last hug before you hit the open road! -------------------------- Please keep in mind that this entire itinerary is completely optional! We promise we won't be sad if you don't join in on every single event - in fact, we encourage you not to - so that you'll have time for your own special West Virginia adventures while you're here! We hope you can make it to at least a couple of these, though - hope to see you there! ;) P.S. If you'd like to see what other attractions we recommend in the area, head over to the "Things To Do" tab of this website to check them out.
