Our Love Story!

Love At First Glass

Kyle was living in Clear Lake, fresh off the exciting accomplishment of buying his dream condo. Samantha was living in Fort Worth, but she was starting to miss home. One day, she casually mentioned to her Aunt Stephanie Tamburello to “keep an eye out” for a guy for her. Not long after, Stephanie was at the Merrill Lynch Christmas party when Kyle started talking about his impressive wine collection. He was confident, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate. A light bulb went off. Stephanie immediately went to Stacey, Kyle’s mom, and pitched the idea. Stacey was all in. With a plan in place, Stephanie boldly walked up to Kyle and asked the question that started it all: “Are you dating anyone?” Kyle nervously replied no, completely unaware of what she had up her sleeve. On January 11th, Kyle texted Samantha to set up their first date. Samantha said she could come down to Houston at the end of the month, but in the meantime, they got to know each other over the phone, just like many modern love stories. On January 25th, they had their first date at Frenchie’s. “So you’re the famous Samantha,” Kyle confidently said as she walked out to his car. Frenchie's was a restaurant Kyle had been going to since he was young, and the entire staff knew him. Excited, he suggested they pick out a bottle of wine. Samantha, who only liked sweet white wine, replied, “But I don’t like red wine.” Kyle laughed and said, “You’re going to learn.” The rest was history. They drank wine until their teeth turned purple and laughed until their cheeks hurt. Samantha knew this date felt different. When she got home, her mom rushed into her room to hear all about it. Samantha tried not to give too much away, but her mom smiled and said, “I don’t know how it went, but I know you drank red wine. Do you even like red wine?” Samantha laughed and replied, “No, but I do now.” Samantha had to go back to Fort Worth that weekend, but they talked every day. On Kyle’s birthday, February 26th, which was technically their second date, Samantha met the Ruszkowski family, and it was an instant fit. After dinner, they went to Tommy’s for a drink and ended up shutting the place down, laughing, talking, and sharing stories. That night, they began to realize just how connected their lives had always been. They had countless mutual friends, went to the same middle school, and Kyle even knew members of Samantha’s extended family. It felt like an invisible string had always been there, quietly tying their worlds together, waiting for the perfect moment to pull them close. The next night, Kyle couldn’t let Samantha leave without seeing her again. He made a reservation at Perry’s Steakhouse and showed up with two dozen roses. As Samantha walked out, she realized he was blasting her favorite artist, Taylor Swift. Shocked, she said she’d be right back to put the flowers inside. Kyle suggested they go in for a drink before their reservation so he could meet her parents. As they walked in, Stacy yelled, “They’re coming inside!” loud enough for both of them to hear. Kyle was completely unfazed and walked in like he’d known her family forever. He fit right in. After a few months, Samantha finally moved home from Fort Worth. To celebrate, they went on a date, and Kyle asked her to be his girlfriend. Fourteen months and nine days later, Kyle proposed at Samantha’s favorite place, the Broadmoor Bridge, where she had dreamed of getting engaged since she was a little girl. Surrounded by both families and Samantha’s two maids of honor, Emilie and Mattie, Kyle got down on one knee and began with the words, “So you’re the famous Samantha.” Forever began. From the beginning, they discovered they were the perfect match, finding joy in the same simple things: traveling, cooking together, discovering new restaurants, listening to music, and spending time with friends and family. They’ve already shared countless adventures and cannot wait to build a lifetime full of those moments together.
