The two met in Kansas City while Kyle was working at Kiewit and Rachel was starting her first year of teaching. They went on a couple of dates that quickly turned into a regular weekly date night every Tuesday. Kyle asked Rachel to be his girlfriend right before his 24th birthday and from then on it was a regular "Threes Company" (Kyle, Rachel, & Moose of course). About a year after dating Kyle & Rachel went to visit his family in Montana and Kyle's amazing mother got him a job interview for a company in Missoula. Kyle got the job and moved back to Montana while Rachel began her second year of teaching in Kansas City. Within nine months of dating long distance Kyle started his new job, they bought a house (right down from his parents), and the family helped get the house prepped and ready. In June 2018 Rachel moved into their new house and got settled in a new job. On March 9th, 2019 Kyle took Rachel up to Crazy Canyon Trail where, after a short hike, he got down and asked Rachel to marry him. He surprised her by bringing her family in town to celebrate! Then the planning began!
