Make your way over to see the historic Grand Hotel. We usually use the side stairs and walk up to the porch to grab a rocking chair and a cocktail overlooking Lake Huron. Note: in order to go inside and tour the hotel, you must pay a fee but you do not have to pay a fee to go sit in the rocking chairs on the porch. Bike parking is behind the golf course pro shop.
RENT A BIKE AND BIKE AROUND THE ISLAND! There are loads of places to rent bikes, we rented here the last time we were on the island. The entire island is about 8.2 miles around. Watch out for the horse poop on the roads (AKA Mackinac Island Fudge)
Our favorite is everything chocolate! There are lots of fudge shops in town... pick your favorite!
Great views at this classic Mackinac Island landmark. You may reach this from the main bike trail around the perimeter of the island- this requires about 200 steps to reach the area. To avoid the steps- you may also bike to the middle of the island or reach it by horse shuttle. Bonus: super clean new bathrooms at the nature center nearby.
