Now if wine is your fancy, we swung by this gem of a winery on our way back from Jerome and although it was very hot, it was worth stopping by. The little patio had plenty of shade to do some wine tasting and chow down on a meat and cheese board.
If you are willing to take the drive and love some creepy ghost stuff, we would recommend swinging over to Jerome AZ. It's an old town on top of a cliff where the hotel used to serve as a hospital and is said to be haunted. The whole town is based around this hotel and has amazing little art shops, great restaurants and fantastic wine tastings.
Well... this is a funny story, but we tried going to this hike with a spectacular view which round trip should be only ~1 mile, buuuuuuut we totally made a wrong turn. Pretty sure we hiked >6 miles that trip, but we eventually found our way! STAY LEFT! Whatever the trail option.... left is your friend.
This hike is probably one of the most popular hikes in town, so we wanted to added it in here with a few cautions. 1) It is super busy with limited parking and they will close the lot once full so GO EARLY. And by early we mean like... 5 am. We tried at 8 am and it was full. 2) It is a short hike, but straight up, so be prepared to climb.
Another super popular hike in town and while it isn't straight up, it is a bit long. Parking availability is better than Cathedral Rock, but there was a Disney-level wait to actually get on the bridge. That said, this is another one we recommend you get to early to beat the crowds… again like 5 am.
