Celebrate with us!

2020 was rough. We decided to postpone our wedding celebration in 2020, and instead, we got married on the shore of Lake Michigan in Escanaba, surrounded by our closest family and friends. But we missed celebrating with everyone special in our lives. So on the eve of our first wedding anniversary, we invite you to celebrate with us! Join us on September 11, 2021, as we drink, eat, and dance the night away! We look forward to seeing you!

How They Met

Both students at UW-Stevens Point, Kaylee and Kyle first met each other as co-workers when they were hired as executive staff members at 90FM, UWSP's student-run radio station, during their sophomore year. Although they did not have much of a relationship outside of working at 90FM early on, it was only a matter of time before an attraction took hold. The first move, as it has been told, was done by Kaylee and took place during the spring of 2014 during 90FM's notorious "production party." As the semesters passed Kaylee and Kyle became closer through working at 90FM, attending the radio station's many staff parties, and other goings on in the Stevens Point area. By Summer of 2016, Kaylee and Kyle's relationship began to take shape. Taking weekly trips to the movies with friends, becoming more involved in working at 90FM together, and having a friendship develop into something closer, it wasn't until later in September when Kaylee and Kyle finally got together and began dating. From their first date of making apple cider (though Kaylee would say it was at the Sculpture Park) to a week-long trip to Oregon during Spring Break, both knew they had something special. After graduating from UWSP in 2017, Kaylee and Kyle moved to Milwaukee to pursue their careers and be closer to Kaylee's family. Soon after moving in with each other they added to their family when they adopted two cats; Frank in the summer, and Stella in the late fall. During their time in Milwaukee Kaylee and Kyle have traveled to farther places like Colorado, Florida, St. Louis, and Arizona, while also exploring closer places like Waupaca, Baileys Harbor, and Arbor Vitae. Kyle went to his first Brewers Game and Kaylee her first Packers Game. They both cannot wait to spend their life together filled with many Uptoberfests, Buddy's Weekends, bottled Miller High Lifes, vinyl records, and pickled eggs. But most of all, they are excited to share their day with all of you. See you in September!

The Proposal

For Kyle, the "lightbulb" moment of knowing he wanted to propose to Kaylee came in early 2019. A few months later during Kendel & Adam Chojnacki's wedding, Kyle's Grandpa Jack told Kyle that he wanted to give him the engagement ring he had given to Molly, his late wife and Kyle's Grandma. With the ring later delivered to Kyle by Lisa, his Mom, the only things to determine now were when and where it all would happen. The initial plan was to propose to Kaylee in Austin, Texas, a trip that the two had planned earlier in the year. However...with their trip taking place during Halloween and an AirBnB costing far too much, a trip to Austin was a no-go. The two decided to instead visit Kaylee's grandparents, Ron and Gail, in Scottsdale, Arizona. Kyle's next plan was to have it take place on the dock of his parents' cabin near Escanaba, Michigan, on a Sunday, the day after Uptoberfest, a beer festival beloved by the Pieczynski family and the event where Kyle and Kaylee first said that they loved each other. However, due to renovations and other circumstances, this plan also had to be scrapped. Later, in early September, Kyle met with Kaylee's Mom, Wendy, to reveal his plan and to ask for her blessing. With a plan in place, Kyle began notifying those close to him of what was to happen in the next couple months. Kyle's new plan was to propose during their trip to Arizona. Kyle first called Gail to tell her of his plans and get her advice on where do it in the Scottsdale area. The Lost Dog Wash Trail, a beautiful overlook hiking trail, was picked. Later, with Kaylee and Kyle in Arizona, and on the morning of the hike, everyone filled their water bottles and started on the Lost Dog Wash Trail. Once on the overlook, Kyle found the perfect spot, pulled Kaylee aside, found an opportune time, pulled out Molly's ring, and got down on one knee to ask Kaylee if she would marry him. After the initial shock wore off, Kaylee said YES!
