Things To Do

Carmel holds a special place in our hearts and we're so excited to share it with you! In addition to spending time in Carmel, there are so many places to see nearby including Big Sur, Monterey, and Santa Cruz. We've had countless memories in each of these places, so we hope that you're able to make some of your own.
Carmel-by-the-Sea

Carmel-by-the-Sea, CA

Carmel-by-the-Sea is one of the quaintest towns in California. Downtown Carmel has cute restaurants, shops, and is a short walk to Carmel Beach where you're able to see Cyprus Trees and (Kyle's favorite) Pebble Beach Golf Links. We love Rise + Roam Bakery and have had a very memorable experience at Scheid Vineyards Tasting Room (if you haven't heard about it from Kate or Kyle, ask!).

Santa Cruz

Santa Cruz

Santa Cruz, CA

If you're flying into San Jose Airport, you'll more than likely drive through Santa Cruz to get to Carmel. We met the first day we started school at UC Santa Cruz, and nearly ten years later, it's still one of our favorite places in the world. There are so many things we love doing in Santa Cruz, including hiking, grabbing a pastry at Companion Bakery, getting acai bowls at Samba Rock, strolling around downtown, and sitting on West Cliff. In fact, Kyle proposed to Kate on West Cliff! We hope you're able to spend time here before or after the wedding!

Big Sur

Big Sur

Big Sur, CA

There is so much beauty in Big Sur! Tons of scenic views, hikes, and beaches to wander. Early fall is the best time to visit as the weather is still warm and there's usually less fog.

Monterey

Golf. Need we say more? Also, Alta Bakery is one of Kate and Kyle's all time favorites - it's a must!
