It wouldn’t be a cliché to say Kyle and Jamie’s story began with love at first sight. During their sophomore year at SUNY Oneonta, Kyle saw Jamie walk across the dining hall, and a smile spread across his face as he turned to his friend and said, “She’s the one.” From that moment, their connection grew quickly, and before long, they were inseparable. After graduation, they embraced the challenge of a long-distance relationship, eagerly traveling to see each other every weekend. Each visit was filled with laughter and joy, as they cherished simply being together—whether hiking new trails in the Hudson Valley or spending a sunny afternoon at the beach on Long Island. Eventually, their paths led them to Astoria, where they were finally able to build a home together with their two cats, Greenfield and Poppy, while pursuing their lifelong dreams of becoming teachers. Their journey took a beautiful turn when Kyle proposed to Jamie on a beach in Cabo, Mexico—an unforgettable moment that felt like the perfect next step in their story.
