FAQs

If you have any questions not answered here, please send an e-mail to our wedding planner, Willa Mae. Her e-mail is willie@trahelyk.com.
Question

Food?

Answer

We are providing some snacks at the mixer on Friday night and some sort of catering at the reception on Saturday. Right now we are thinking a food truck with tacos or Thai food, but check back here later to see what we settle on. We would also like to do a potluck that night. We'd love it if you brought a dish to share, but please don't feel obligated to do so. There will also be some fabulous cake. No, really; we are taking the cake part really seriously. It's gonna be decadent. Finally, we are providing some eggs and toast and sausages and whatnot on Sunday morning and early afternoon for a brunch. If you are staying at camp a few days, feel free to bring stuff for your other meals. There is a walk-in refrigerator, an industrial kitchen, a small grill, and multiple fire pits.

Question

What about parking?

Answer

Shouldn't be a problem.

Question

Can I bring a guest?

Answer

We are only allowed a limited number of guests, so please bring extra people only if they were included on your invitation.

Question

Can I bring my dog?

Answer

We're sorry, but Camp Kiwanilong prohibits pets from the camp grounds. Please leave your pooch at home and give him or her a big hug from us.

Question

Can I bring some beer, wine, liquor, or marijuana?

Answer

Sorry, but we do not have licensing that would allow us to have alcohol or marijuana at the camp. It's going to be a nostalgic summer camp weekend of clean fun!

Question

What are check-in and check-out times?

Answer

We'll be ready to begin receiving guests as early as the morning of Friday the 25th, and you are welcome to stay until Sunday late afternoon.

Question

Will there be bats?

Answer

Yeah, there are bats there.

Question

Wait; isn't this Memorial Day weekend? Aren't you worried about the traffic?

Answer

Yeah, traffic to the coast might not be great. But we're hoping to offset that burden by providing a really fun place where you can stay for a few days and make the trip worthwhile. Also, if you come Friday morning and stay until Sunday, you might miss the heavier traffic.

Question

I have bad memories of summer camp. Can I just come for the wedding part?

Answer

Sure. The ceremony is on Saturday the 26th at 5 PM, and the reception will follow immediately. The party will go till after midnight, and you're welcome to stay as long as you like.
