This is one of our favorite places to go wine tasting in Carmel Valley. They have a lovely patio where you can enjoy a chilled flight of wines, cheese plate, or charcuterie board.
The best aquarium in the region. It is located directly on Cannery Row in an old sardine canning factory. Kyle loves the sea otters and sunfish exhibits.
One of our favorite restaurants in Carmel Valley for a casual lunch or dinner. If it's warm enough, we recommend dining in their rear courtyard.
A good spot to hike in Carmel Valley that offers trails across a wide variety of terrain and beautiful views of the valley.
Easy hiking on the edge of the Pacific. Keep an eye out for whale spouts - humpbacks and gray whales can be spotted here.
There are a few fire pits overlooking the links and the Pacific Ocean. These are a great spot to grab a burger and glass of wine. Just watch out for the seagulls - they are not afraid to try to steal a few french fries. If you buy some food or drinks, they will validate your entry fee to 17 Mile Drive.
The perfect spot for anyone looking to unwind over the weekend. Refuge has a series of cold, warm, and hot plunge pools as well as steam rooms and saunas. They recommend going through them in a cycle and resting between cycles by a fire pit. The entrance fee is $55, but is waived if you book a treatment. Bring a book or magazine if you go as the outdooor area is silent.
If you like cheese, this is a must visit spot. The shop has a wide range of cheeses and wines. When you enter, you'll be assigned a cheesemonger who will take you through a complimentary tasting. We recommend coming hungry and purchasing several cheeses, bread, and some other small bites for a picnic on the beach.
An excellent sweet shop in Carmel that looks like an adorable English cottage. Kyle's favorite treat is their rose flavored Turkish delight.
