Brasstown Valley Resort & Spa

It's a popular weekend (not because of us), and we were only able to block 12 rooms--some for Friday and Saturday, and some only Saturday. At this time, we believe these 12 rooms are spoken for. This is the reception venue, so if you want to stay close to the celebration, this is your place! even with the 10% discount for being part of the wedding, it's a bit pricey (~$250/night).

VRBO and AirBnB

There are some great options for AirBnB and VRBO. A good place to start is to plug "Young Harris, GA" into a search. The reception venue, Brasstown Valley Resort and Spa, is 2 miles north of Young Harris. The wedding is 13 miles north of that, past Hayesville, NC. Hiawassee, GA is also a good search option. Hiawassee is about 15 miles from the wedding and 7-8 miles from the reception.

Lake Chatuge Lodge

This is your best bet for a hotel that's not Brasstown Valley. It's a 24 minute drive from the wedding and an 11 minute drive to the reception. Lake Chatuge Lodge got a rating of 4/5 on Hotels.com. The rates are $133-$200 (with a lake view) which includes taxes/fees. It used to be a Raddison Hotel. (706) 896-5253

Chatuge Mountain Inn

Chatuge Mountain Inn is a cute, no frills, motel. I think it overlooks Lake Chatuge. It got a 4.5/5 on Hotels.com. It's $101.01 including taxes and fees per night.

Deerfield Inn

This is a no frills motel. I've stayed here many times while renovating Watershed. The amenities include hot water and beds, which are <10 steps to your car. Cost is $115.50 per night, including taxes and fees. It's the closest you'll get to the wedding venue, a 15 minute drive, and it's only a 17 minute drive to the reception.

Hidden Valley Bed & Breakfast

I don't know much about this BnB, but it looks cute and its a 24 minute drive to the wedding and a 15 minute drive to the reception.

Flight

If your flying in...

Atlanta is probably your best bet. It's a 2:30 minute drive to the wedding venue.

Travel Note

Important Note to All/Wedding Location

The actual wedding location is 361 Albone Branch Rd., Hayesville, NC 28904. Don't let your GPS autocorrect to Albone Trail--that's nearby, but the wrong street. 1) Cell phone reception is poor as you approach the wedding venue, so please, if you're using GPS on your phone, leave it on until you arrive at the property. If you exit your GPS program you'll have to drive back towards Hayesville to get reception. 2) You will have to drive through 2 shallow streams, and park in the small field to the left, then walk into the property (there will be signs). Or, if you're brave, drive through 3 streams to get all the way to the house. It's been done relatively easy in a Prius and a Volkswagen Golf, just drive slowly, please.
