Cecilia and Ky met on a warm summer day at Camp Massasoit. Ky remembers it clearly -watching the beautiful Cecilia walk across the parking lot and instantly knowing she had to get to know her. What started as a spark of curiosity quickly turned into a deep friendship, built on a shared love of music. Naturally, our first “friend date” was a concert seeing LANY and Surfaces, two of our favorite artists. Over the next few months, our bond grew through sharing new music, walks at East Campus, and spending time surrounded by friends. Those closest to us could see the love and connection forming long before we fully realized it. Ky knew she was falling for Cecilia during Christmas shopping that year, when she bought her a carnelian ring; not THE ring, but definitely a little foreshadowing. What truly sealed it was yet another concert, this time seeing Renee Rapp. After that night, Ky called her mom and said, “Cecilia is the one for me.” We officially began our relationship on January 7, 2023, on a beach on Long Island, watching a beautiful sunset with our dog, Milo. We continued to grow together through the final semester of graduate school, celebrating a huge milestone as we both earned master’s degrees from Springfield College. After graduation, we stepped into a new chapter, both landing roles in Western Massachusetts. Ky stayed on at Springfield College’s East Campus, while Cecilia began an internship at UMass Amherst. With that, we decided to move in together and create a home. Over the next year, we grew in our careers, kept attending concerts we loved, celebrated holidays together for the first time, and joyfully marked one full year together. As the next year began, we found a true sense of home in Massachusetts when we moved to Northampton (and had our pick of coffee shops and stores to walk to). Fast forward to February 2025, when Cecilia asked Ky to go ring shopping, this time for the real ring. Wanting something meaningful and personal, we chose to shop local and design rings made with love and care. Cecilia then planned the most beautiful engagement, bringing everything back to where it all began, East Campus. Ky walked a familiar path filled with memories and songs that mean so much to us. Waiting at the beach was Cecilia, surrounded by white roses. In true Cecilia-and-Ky fashion, we were perfectly in sync, Ky had Cecilia’s ring too. That day, we both got down on one knee and proposed to each other. We are so excited to begin this next chapter and can’t wait to celebrate our love with all of you on May 22, 2027, in the Outer Banks.
