After going out with each other for 6 months in high school, Tommy decided that they should just stay friends. Everybody could ask Lori, she remembers everything. As time went on and they led their separate lives, they eventually ended up going to the same college at San Jose State University. Through volleyball at SJSU and 9 man, they were still able to stay in touch from time to time. As they both went through college and dated other people, many many years later, Tommy realized that he needed to be with Lori. And so, Tommy decided to ask Lori out again the second time after a dinner date at Roy's in SOMA. After dinner, they went out for a walk and saw the bay bridge lights, that's when Tommy decided to ask Lori to be his girlfriend. 5 years later, moving back to San Francisco, living together, raising her beautiful and smart dog, Aki, Tommy decided that it was time to up his game. In order for Lori to dress up on this particular cold, wet day, Tommy told her that he wanted to take some pictures to create a holiday card (which he really did). They eventually got to match and dress up for this "photoshoot." Tommy chose Cupid's Span at Rincon park because that was the location where he asked Lori to be his girlfriend, the second time. But as the day came closer, weather didn't seem to be so kind, it was raining that same day as the photoshoot. As time got closer to meet with the photographer, Larry, it suddenly stopped raining (it was a miracle because there was no plan B). When it stopped raining, they quickly set up to take some pictures under the cupid's arrow. As Larry called Aki over to him, that was Tommy's cue to give his speech to Lori. As Aki ran back to his parents, he wore a bandana that said, "Will you marry my daddy?". And there Tommy was, down on one knee, asking Lori to marry him. They both blacked out so they have no recollection of what was said.
