We met towards the end of 2022 when Kayla moved to Mankato. Kayla began working at the same place as Taylor and the rest is history.... In October of 2023 we traveled to Asia together. When we were staying at a floating cabin resort on the river Khwae Yai (Kwai) in Thailand, Taylor proposed. About an hour after Taylor proposed, Kayla proposed back. Kayla knew Taylor was planning to propose on the trip, but didn't know when. Kayla also wanted to propose so she waited until Taylor did first. The plan was to wait until a few days after Taylor proposed to ask back, but Kayla couldn't wait. It was the perfect place to get engaged and we decided to make our last names Kwai (pronounced Kw-ay) as a way to remember this special moment in our lives. We planned our wedding for 9/20/2025. Our plan was always to have a small ceremony with our closest friends at an airbnb in Colorado. With the election in 2024, we decided to go to the courthouse and get legally married so that we could get our names changed and all of the legal things done. We still wanted to have a ceremony in Colorado with our close friends so we are doing a celebration ceremony!
