I would recommend finding a credit card that has travel features. This is the most economic and cost effective way (in my opinion). I have Chase Sapphire Preferred and I do not get charged additional fees for using it in other currencies. Otherwise, you can call your bank and ask how best to order some Euro Currency. You will get hit with less fees by requesting it directly from your bank than you will at a currency exchange kiosk at the airport.
The Welcome Dinner on the 24th really is as casual as you want it to be. If you just landed, where whatever is comfortable. Krystial will be wearing a dress (simply because I can and I love every excuse I can get to wear one) and Kurtis will be wearing jeans a a plaid button up shirt (super casual). The Ceremony and reception on the 25th is formal attire. Ladies, please wear dresses and don't be afraid to get fancy! Men, please wear a suit or at least a tie and button up shirt. We don't want anyone having to go buy anything new, so please wear whatever you already have.
I suggest arriving by the 23rd, spending a night in amazing Dublin, and then heading up to the Castle the next day in the morning of the 24th. If you choose to stick around for the family day excursion on the 26th (completely optional), I would suggest departing on the 27th.
Honestly, we are just so happy that you have decided to join us on this amazing day! We really don't need anything more than your presence and support. Please do not burden yourself with getting us anything. The trip is well enough.
Once you have decided the room you would like, please feel free to reach out to Yasmeen (our amazing wedding planner) and she will get you set up with your room of choice. You can reach her at: Ladybird Ever After <info@ladybirdeverafter.com>
Ireland handles drinks on a individual basis. Alcoholic beverages will be available (beer, wine, whiskey... of course!) that you can purchase individually. There will be options for whiskey fights to taste the amazing spread of options the Kinnitty Castle makes on their own.
I suggest renting a car through AutoEurope. I have found them to be the least expensive. I do suggest checking with any of your credit card companies though before ordering to see if they cover insurance, so you do not end up double buying. If you do not feel you need a car and the only 'trip' you will need will be to and from the airport to the castle (and back), please reach out to Kurtis or Krystial and we can make arrangements together.
Kurtis and Krystial will be renting a couple vehicles to transport people back and forth from the castle. The most cost effective approach will be to carpool together, so we will have two vehicles driving back and forth. The trip between the castle and the church is only about 10 min, so we will be setting up times in the event you care to be transported over.
