Like many millenials, Kurtis and Emily met on Tinder. But! They quickly learned that they had crossed paths many times over at various political events over the years - so they like to think this was all meant to be, even if it took an app to make it happen. They had their first date on a hot July at Sonny's in Park View. Kurtis wore dress shoes, khakis, and a nice button up (unbuttoned just one lower than his comfort zone thanks to some good advice from now-best man Carl). Emily showed up late, hair still wet from a hasty shower taken after a hike. Very different mindsets. But from the moment Emily sat down, everything was easy - it felt like coming home, like they had known each other for years. They stayed at Sonny's past closing time despite it being a Sunday, and despite them both visibly sweating through their clothes. And since that first evening, things have stayed that way. From meeting friends and families, moving in together with Emily's cat Finn, adopting another cat (Tito), and exploring the world, the life and community Kurtis and Emily have built speaks to love and care they have fostered since the hot July evening.
