The best airport to fly into to reach Playa del Carmen is Cancun International Airport (CUN), as it is the closest major airport to the city and offers the most flight options with easy access to Playa del Carmen via taxi, bus, or private transfer. You can also fly into Tulum (TQO) and get to Playa del Carmen via taxi, private transfer, bus, rental car or Shuttle Service.
