In January, 2024 while on vacation in Mexico, Matthew had a plan to propose. The resort we stayed at provided us with a butler who was from the area. Matthew and the butler spent many secret meetings planning the proposal. Fast forward to day 4 in the resort (January 3rd, 2024), we are getting professional photographs taken! We are slowly making our way down the beach when we approach a large red heart made of rose petals. Matthew proposes, I say "YES" and begin to chuckle. Matthew, confused as to why I'm laughing turns around to find within the red heart of rose petals states "Did You Married Me". Turns out, the butler had translated what Matthew intended the heart to say incorrectly. This mistake made the proposal all around even more perfect as it created something to laugh about!

We met at Matthews 23rd birthday party while he was attending his victory lap (5th year) at Colorado State University. My roommate and Matthews roommate were dating at the time and knew we would click. Turns out, they were right! I (proudly) made the first move by Smirnoff Icing Matthew upon meeting him and the rest is history!
