Wedding Party

Meet our family and friends who are walking down the aisle with us.

Alexandra Kuipers

Maid of Honor

Alexandra, the Maid of Honor, is the bride’s older sister. When observing a conversation with these two, you will often hear them quizzing each other on various lines from movies and TV shows (Alexandra is always quoting “The Office”). They share a strong bond and consider themselves “best friends who happen to be sisters.” From a young age, they did everything together from playing Barbies and “Teacher” to performing together as Rizzo and Sandy in Grease and Dorothy and the Cowardly Lion in The Wizard of Oz. They’ve been lucky to maintain their strong bond throughout adulthood and frequently get together to go shopping or for double dates. Be careful - she may pull you onto the dance floor to learn a country line dance!

Matt Masterson

Best Man

Matt, the Best Man, first met the groom their freshman year at UCLA while pledging the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity. Matt and Alex both joined the Ski & Snowboard club and played on many rec league softball, indoor and beach volleyball teams. Their shared passion for volleyball continued after college with weekly beach volleyball gatherings every summer. Both being from San Diego, they shared many rides back and forth from LA, always stopping for California burritos and visiting the local breweries along the way. Matt became an honorary roommate during quarantine, beginning what is still an ongoing rivalry for ultimate champion of activities such as Pickleball and Splendor. Matt’s not shy about spreading love to those around him, and expect the love to be flowing all night long.

Briana Hildebrand

Bridesmaid

Briana, one of the bridesmaids, is Jacqueline’s oldest and best friend. Their bond stemmed from their high school days driving around with Kelly Clarkson blaring so loud you’d be surprised they still have eardrums. Their friendship continued throughout college and adulthood, bonded by their love of travel, eating well and seeking out adventure. They’ve traveled the world together going scuba diving in Panama, skiing in Colorado and bungee jumping in New Zealand…well Jacqueline did and Bri chickened out. She’ll never live that down. Bri will probably be crying throughout the ceremony so if you have an extra tissue, go ahead and offer it to her.

Alex Romanak

Groomsman

Alex (aka Rome) also first met the groom pledging their fraternity at UCLA, and sophomore year they were roommates in what would become the UCLA Ski & Snowboard Club House. Not only do they share first names and initials, but they also share the same birthday, a bond that would spark an annual tradition, still ongoing after 10 years. One birthday celebration took them on a beach camping hike; the 5 mile hike looked much easier than in reality when carrying their packs, firewood, food, water and, of course, beer for the weekend. It was even worse having to hike back after the celebration, a lesson learned when planning the following years events. He is a self-proclaimed “platinum member of the Riggs Fan Club,” so don’t be surprised if you see the groom on his shoulders on the dance floor.

Alana Roper

Bridesmaid

Alana is Alex’s older sister and even though it’s unclear when she and Jacqueline first met, they immediately bonded over their love of shopping at thrift stores, antiques malls and estate sales. One of their favorite memories is when Alana visited the bride and groom in LA and they went to a nice dinner and several bars, except Alana insisted that she keep the risotto leftovers from dinner in her purse. Even after enduring several strange looks from the bouncers, Alana managed to hold onto the risotto and enjoyed it the next day. While she has many, you can say Alana’s greatest passion is drinking wine so you know she’ll be holding a glass all night long.

Hank Foo

Groomsman

Hank and Alex met on a wild Halloween weekend in Santa Barbara. The following year, Hank transferred to UCLA and moved in next door to Alex. After graduation, they lived together for several years and were always hosting gatherings for Game of Thrones watch parties, backyard bonfires and homemade sushi dinners. They continued a Friendsgiving tradition in which they enjoyed setting the table for 30 guests in the backyard, bringing together various friend groups. They were an unrivaled dynamic duo and their guests still talk about those dinner parties to this day. Alex is also the honorary ‘dogfather’ to Hank’s German Shepard, Apollo. Hank is guaranteed to have the best dance moves, so be prepared to get beat if you challenge him to a dance off.

Mary Kuipers

Bridesmaid

Mary is married to Garrett, Jacqueline’s older brother, and mother to arguably the three cutest children: Kai (ring bearer), Cali and Catie (flower girls). She is a real estate agent and is working on building their real estate empire so Garrett can retire from the military and they can live their best life on a coffee farm in Hawaii. When Garrett and Mary lived in Santa Monica for a year, the two couples had their weekly tradition of watching “The Bachelor” complete with wine and a charcuterie board. We want Mary to dance the night away so if you see three children running around, tell Grandma so she can keep partying.

Corey Hilton

Groomsman

Corey and Alex met through mutual friends after Corey moved to LA upon being discharged from the Marine Corps. They became fast friends and eventually roommates, sharing their love of country music, football Sundays and playing on The Colonels softball team. Every time they hear Jimmy Buffet, they think back to a concert they once attended. Traffic and parking issues made them late to the show, but their frustrations melted away upon arrival, surrounded by good company and yelling Margaritaville at the top of their lungs. Even though Corey now lives in Austin, TX, they still maintain their close friendship. If you hear Jimmy Buffet come on during the reception, you’ll know who bribed the DJ.
