Tours are limited, reserve in advance. Our favorites are La Rojeña (owned by Cuervo, oldest distillery in Mexico), Fortaleza, Tequileño, Sauza and Orendain (all in town). Herradura is also great, but about a 20 min drive (and has been closed due to COVID). Tres Mujeres and Cava de Oro are also good options, but also a 20 min drive. There are several guided tours available that take you to various distilleries. Ask the hotel about booking a tour, or someone will undoubtedly approach you in the town square (the Plaza). Some of the pricier tours that you book online offer a Maestro Tequilero as your tour guide. Also check out the National Museum of Tequila and the Juan Beckmann Gallardo Cultural Center. https://visitguadalajara.com/tequila/ruta-del-tequila https://www.thrillist.com/culture/best-tequila-distillery-tours https://www.tripadvisor.com/Attractions-g775272-Activities-c42-Tequila.html
Tlaquepaque is one of our favorite places to visit in Guadalajara. Be sure to stop by Croissants Alfredo! Other great areas to visit are the historic Centro (be sure to visit the Cathedral built in the 1500s) and Zapopan. The street food in Guadalajara is amazing! There are also many high-end/trendy restaurants: Bruna, Porfirio's, La Tequila and Beluga are just a few.
