Update: Well, here we are almost two years into the pandemic. When we got engaged in December 2020, we never imagined we would be dealing with COVID-19 during our wedding. But here we are! Let's have fun and stay safe! Please see the FAQ page for COVID-19 protocols.

Question

COVID-19 Protocols

Answer

In order to keep all of our guests as safe as possible (especially given the traveling to/from Mexico), we are asking that guests follow the following protocols for the wedding activities: • Wedding Requirements: we are asking that you self-test before traveling. If you are positive or have COVID-19 symptoms, please stay home. • Masks are required indoors in Mexico. The wedding ceremony in the church will be the only indoor activity. All other activities will be outdoors. • State of Jalisco Requirements: all guests entering the wedding venues will need to either: (i) have evidence of vaccination or (ii) have evidence of a negative PCR test (i.e., not a rapid test) within 48 hours. We are coordinating with our wedding planner on how this information will be collected. Don’t forget to bring your proof of vaccination!

Question

COVID-19 Travel Testing (for those traveling back to the United States)

Answer

For those traveling back to the United States: • If you are traveling to San Diego through Tijuana, no COVID-19 test is required. • For all others, per the latest CDC guidelines, before boarding a flight to the United States, you are required to show a negative COVID-19 test result taken no more than "1 day" before travel. There is also an option for people who have documented recovery from COVID-19 in the past 90 days. • Note that "1 day" does not mean 24 hours (it means the entire previous day). For example, if your flight is at 1 p.m. on Sunday, you can board with a negative test that was taken any time on Saturday. We have engaged a testing service to be at Hotel Solar de las Animas (in Tequila) on Saturday and Sunday for travel testing. If you are flying back to the United States on Sunday or Monday, please let us know so we can make arrangements. The cost of a test is 800 pesos per person (approximately $40 USD).
