Our First Date: A few years after our time on the Phantom of the Opera tour, David learned that Katie had recently broken up with a boyfriend and took a leap and asked her on a date. For whatever reason, they ended up at a bar called Bar Bacon... where they drank highly romantic bacon-themed drinks. After hours of talking, David used his best/worst pick up line: "I'm really good at the Ouija board, wanna go to my apartment and try it?" That night, they contacted the right spirits, and the rest is history. Our Love Story: At the beginning of our relationship, we were long-distance because Katie was undergoing long-term recovery from a preventative double mastectomy in Chicago. David frequently visited her via sneaky work trips where they would go to the movies and eat delicious food all over town. Soon after her recovery, Katie went to Grad School at Penn State. Long Distance again, we both continued to make trips between State College and New York, finding our relationship worked well in transit. Then the pandemic hit. Like many, we found ourselves suddenly living in a 700-square-foot apartment with nowhere to go, and only each other to lean on as we faced this terrifying and unknown experience. Our industry and livelihoods went dormant, but thankfully our love flourished. By the end of the first year of quarantine, we knew that if we could live through all of the hurdles thrown at us, we knew we wanted to face all the unknown hurdles of life... together.
