Travel Note
Parking in the city is hard to find and crazy expensive. Please be aware of this as you look for lodging. Public Transit will likely be a more affordable option if you plan to stay in the city for the duration of your stay, and it is often easier to get places without a car in tow. For parking on the day of the wedding, our venue coordinator has recommended parking at the Hyde Street Garage (directly behind the wedding venue) or at the Anchorage Garage (1 block from hotel). The garage at Ghirardelli Square is also a nearby option.
Flight
SFO is the closest airport to the wedding venue. However, SFO also tends to have more delays than OAK, so keep that in mind as you create your travel plans.
Flight
OAK is across the Bay, but you can still easily fly into OAK and then use public transportation (BART) to get across the Bay to San Francisco.
Train
If you are flying into OAK airport and are looking for a way to get to San Francisco via public transportation, we'd highly recommend BART! The URL listed connects you to the handy trip planner tool. BART also runs in and through San Francisco. However, for public transportation getting around the city, we would recommend using the MUNI (bus and street car system). When in doubt, consult Google Maps!
Train
This is really more of a bus & street car system, rather than a train. We recommend using the MUNI system to get around in San Francisco, especially around Fisherman's Wharf. The link below will take you to the MUNI trip planner. However, Google Maps also works just as well, especially when you're not sure which public transportation system to use!
