Like all young, hip, 21-st century couples, we met online. :) We like to joke that OK Cupid did more than OK because we think it did pretty great! Katherine, newly moved to the Bay Area, jumped on OK Cupid to meet more friends. (Berkeley was more of a college town that she thought it would be and she was not interested in hearing about upcoming finals & school-related woes.) Eric was on OK Cupid looking for a dedicated, long-term partner after settling down in the Bay Area himself. The first date went swimmingly, but things seemed to hit a snag when Katherine announced she was "just looking for friends." The evening ended and few days passed. However, neither Eric nor Katherine could shake the fact that things seemed different & better with each other. They met up for Date #2 and have been together ever since!

Eric popped the question at the top of a mountain at Heavenly Resort, Tahoe. Though it was already Spring, Tahoe was having a record year of snowfall and Katherine & Eric were in the middle of whiteout conditions. Although Katherine did not suspect anything before Eric dropped to his knee, we got it all on camera, including the part where Katherine was all cozy in her snow gear and didn't start to remove her helmet and balaclava until Eric showed her the ring....
